The Ultimate Smoothie Bowl
If you’re following us on Instagram, you’ve probably noticed by now that we have a deep love of smoothie bowls.
For one, I’m a bit obsessed over how many nutritious ingredients you can incorporate into one delicious meal. Second, they’re so fun to design and to watch my kid’s face light up as he picks out every single piece of fruit before slurping down the bowl and making the kitchen table a gigantic mess. (But who are we kidding… that’s pretty much every meal these days 😉 ).
Since I do make so many smoothie bowls, I wanted to give the recipe to at least one of my bowls on the blog… and then let you experiment as you wish!
I call this one the ultimate smoothie bowl since it contains a variety of fruits and superfoods (chia seeds, pepitas and coconut) and even a veggie, too (cuz I’m sneaky like that).
The Ultimate Smoothie Bowl
Ingredients for the smoothie (1 serving):
- One frozen banana
- 2 scoops of Shaklee’s Vanilla Life Protein (or the Plain and Simple if keeping it Paleo)
- 1/2 c. of coconut milk
- Handful of spinach or kale
- 2 tbsp. of almond butter
- Ice
Blend together and then pour into a bowl. Top with blueberries, raspberries, mango, coconut, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds and any other fruit/seed/nut combo you prefer!
